Musica Viva ~ Pastance 21st May

One Direction may be the latest Anglo-Celtic group to hit the market but Pastance is where it all began. This performance is a journey through the diverse styles and stiring melodies of Celtic and Anglo folk traditions. From well-known songs like Speed Bonny Boat to rare treasures, students can play and interact with the distinctive instruments of the genre: harp, recorder, fiddle, Baroque guitar, lute, bagpipes, darabukka and bodhran. Through narrative-based music, students will meet a Celtic prince, dance a fisherman's jig, celebrate a wedding, and march to the bagpipes! Above all,Pastance shows students the awesome power music has to tell a story.
